Today, 90% of global trade travels by sea, representing 10 billion tonnes of cargo per year. 10 container ships pollute as much as all the world's cars combined.
Faced with the climate crisis, the maritime sector must reinvent itself. HydroVinci, as a student association, contributes by designing alternative propulsion solutions through international competition.
HydroVinci was founded in 2017 by Charles Viger with a clear ambition: to provide, at a student association level, concrete solutions to the maritime energy transition.
Since then, the association has competed in numerous international competitions, built several boats and brought together more than 70 passionate students each year, committed to a project bigger than themselves.
As part of the Pôle Léonard de Vinci, every project is integrated into the ESILV engineering curriculum, combining academic theory with real international competition.
HydroVinci is driven by students from the three schools of Pôle Léonard de Vinci, with the support of De Vinci Higher Education.
